If you have Chord, the link or QR code opens that Night and you join with one tap. If you don't have it yet, get the iPhone beta first (it takes a minute), then open the link again.

No. Chord is independent and isn’t affiliated with Sunburn, NH7 Weekender, Lollapalooza India or any festival. It works anywhere there’s music.

Anyone 16 or older. If you’re 16 or 17, you confirm at sign-up that a parent or guardian has agreed.

It stays yours. Nothing you save is removed when the beta ends, and you can export everything from Settings anytime.

Yes. Import clips from your camera roll and Chord files each one under the night it was actually filmed, then finds the songs in the background.

Chord does. Film the moment in Chord’s camera and Chord names the song from your clip, then keeps the clip and the song together in your Night. Shazam and Google’s song search can name a released song while it plays, but they don’t keep your video. If Chord can’t name a song (a very loud room or an unreleased ID), add it in two taps.

Yes. Chord works anywhere there is music, Sunburn included. Film a moment and Chord names the song from your clip. Chord is not affiliated with Sunburn or any festival.

Open Chord’s camera and film the moment. Chord names the song from your clip and saves the two together. If it can’t, add it in two taps: search for the song right on the clip.

Because then you have two halves of one moment. Shazam gives you a title with no clip. Your camera gives you a clip with no song, and by the time you’ve switched apps the drop is gone. Film the moment in Chord and Chord names the song from the clip. Your crew’s clips land in the same Night.

It keeps trying after you stop. Any video that saves without a song goes back through detection in the background, and when the track turns up Chord adds it to your clip and sends you a ‘Song found’ notification. If it’s an unreleased ID or the room was too loud, add the song yourself (type it or search for it) right on the clip.

Yes, for released tracks. Film a moment and Chord names the track from your clip. Unreleased IDs aren’t in any catalogue yet, so no app can name them: add those yourself in two taps when you find the name.

You can still film. Every capture saves to your phone first and uploads when you’re back on data or wifi, even if the app was closed in between. Naming the song needs a connection, so a clip filmed with no bars gets its song once you’re back online. Your library and last night still open in airplane mode.

Chord only listens while the camera is open or when you ask it to catch a song. There’s no always-on listening. At a festival you can have videos wait for wifi before they upload, which saves both battery and data. Your clips are safe on the phone until then.

At a live show Chord compares matches across several slices of audio instead of trusting the first one. When the night’s lineup is known, the song that fits the set wins. If it still gets one wrong, change the song on the moment in a couple of taps.

Yes. Every Night has its own Setlist tab. Your own captures build the setlist you witnessed, and Crowd Setlist shows what the whole crew caught, ranked by how many of the crew caught each song: counts only, never names. Save the setlist as a Spotify or Apple Music playlist in one tap.

Chord keeps the clips you film. Keeping 4K originals at full quality is planned for the Max plan, which comes later.

Anywhere you can hear music: a club night in Mumbai, a gig in Bengaluru, a rave in Delhi, a festival in Goa or a bar with a great DJ anywhere else. If there’s a song, Chord can hold the moment. It isn’t tied to specific venues or lineups; it goes wherever the night takes you.

Only you, until you share it. Tag a friend and they can see that moment, and only the people on it can comment or react. Join a Night with your crew and the crew sees the clips added to it. A public link to one moment, or a Night Card on your story, is always your choice. Never the default. Crew counts show numbers, never names.

They’re stored in the cloud, encrypted at rest, until you delete them. Deleted moments wait in a 30-day trash first. You can export from Settings anytime. The file lists every moment with links to your photos and videos.

No ads, no data sales, no cross-app tracking. The app does record how it’s used (which screens and features) linked to your account, so we can fix and improve it. There’s no in-app switch for that yet; email privacy@chordapp.in and we’ll stop it for your account.

Yes. Block or report any profile, clip or comment from its menu. Reports are reviewed by the Chord team.

Your profile is cleared and you’re signed out everywhere straight away. Everything else is permanently erased after 30 days. Change your mind within those 30 days? Email support@chordapp.in from the same address and we’ll restore it.

Yes, if you turn it on. When a song from one of your nights comes on in Spotify or Apple Music (or any player that scrobbles to Last.fm), Chord sends a notification naming the song and the night; tap it and you’re back in that moment. It respects Quiet Hours, and ‘Don’t bring back’ stops any night, person or song from ever coming back.

They'll need Chord to add their clips. Send them to chordapp.in/download: on iPhone they can install the beta in a minute. Then they join your Night with the link, the code or a QR scan.

No. Any Night can have a crew. Crew is also the name of a paid plan for up to five people to share one bill. Paid plans come later.

Chord is free on iPhone right now. Paid plans (Plus, Max and Crew) come later. We'll tell you before anything costs money.

Smart glasses, Strava and Apple Health are coming soon. Android is coming too. We’ll say so here when each one is ready.
