1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Chord, a company incorporated in India with its registered office in Mumbai, Maharashtra. These Terms govern your use of the Chord mobile application, website (chordapp.in), and all related services.

By using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age. If under 18, you represent you have parental/guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining credential confidentiality and all activities under your account. One account per person. Notify security@chordapp.in immediately of any unauthorised access.

4. Your Content

By uploading content, you grant Chord a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Services. This licence terminates when you delete your content or account.

We do not use your content for: training ML models (other than your personal on-device models), advertising, research (unless anonymised), display to other users, or any purpose other than serving you.

Content restrictions: No infringing, illegal, or malicious content. We reserve the right to remove violations.

Music: Chord stores only song title and artist name as text. We do not store, stream, or reproduce copyrighted recordings.

5. Description of Services

Memory Mode: Save moments with photos, videos, songs, notes, voice recordings, moods, and locations.

Reflection Mode: Revisit one memory at a time in a calm, full-screen presentation.

Support Mode: Guided breathing, comfort memory, and "Note to Self." Not therapy or medical treatment.

Integrations: Spotify, wearables (6 devices), voice assistants (Siri/Google), smart glasses (Ray-Ban Meta), AI memory search. Each subject to respective third-party terms.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Chord Pro: Advanced features via paid subscription. Billed through App Store / Play Store. Auto-renews unless cancelled 24h before end of period. Refunds handled by Apple/Google per their policies.

Free tier: Core experience — saving memories, Reflection Mode, Support Mode — is and will remain free.

7. Acceptable Use

Use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not: access others' accounts, reverse-engineer the App, store illegal content, use automated tools, circumvent security, use wearable features for medical diagnosis, or misrepresent your identity.

8. Intellectual Property

"Chord," the Chord logo, and "A private place for the moments that shaped you" are trademarks of Chord. The App's software, UI, brand assets, and content are our intellectual property.

9. Medical and Therapeutic Disclaimer

10. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chord's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) what you paid us in the past 12 months, or (b) $100.

11. Account Termination

By you: Delete your account anytime via Settings. All content permanently deleted within 30 days. Irreversible.

By Chord: We may terminate for Terms violations, illegal use, or 24 months of inactivity (30-day email notice).

12. Data Export

Export all your data anytime: photos, videos, voice notes as original files + all metadata in JSON format, delivered as a downloadable ZIP.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction. EU/UK users retain their statutory consumer rights.
