Is Chord free?

Yes. The core experience is free with a cap of 30 memories. Pro is $4.99 per month (or ₹149 in India) for unlimited memories, the AI assistant, wearable intelligence, and cloud backup. A Max tier ($9.99 / ₹299) is available at launch for concert and festival shooters who keep 4K originals.

Can anyone see my memories?

No. Chord is private by default — there is no public feed and no algorithm ranking your life. Only the people you explicitly tag in a memory can see it, and only they can comment or react. Memories are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), with sensitive fields under an additional application-layer AES-256-GCM pass. We never sell or share your content.

Apple Watch, Fitbit, WHOOP, Oura Ring, Garmin, and Samsung Watch. Each device gets a 14-day on-device calibration so Chord can learn what 'peak moment' looks like for you specifically.

Is Chord GDPR and DPDP Act compliant?

Yes. Chord supports the rights enshrined in the EU/UK GDPR, California's CCPA, and India's DPDP Act 2023 — access, correction, erasure, portability, and grievance redressal. Submit data subject requests directly from /privacy and we respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party.

How is my memory data encrypted?

Data in transit uses TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Sensitive fields — notes, voice notes, account info — get an additional application-layer encryption pass using AES-256-GCM with authenticated additional data, so even at the database layer the content is never browsable in plaintext.

Can Chord sell or share my data with advertisers?

Accepted Answer

No. Chord has no ad business and no third-party data sharing. We don't use Facebook SDK, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or any advertising SDK. The only telemetry is anonymous Google Analytics 4, gated behind explicit cookie consent. If you decline analytics, GA4 never loads.

Question 9

What happens when I delete my Chord account?

Accepted Answer

All of your memories, photos, videos, voice notes, and account metadata are permanently deleted within 30 days. Encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. The deletion is irreversible — we send a confirmation email before completing it so accidental requests can be cancelled.
